"Lightning Strike", is something I've wanted to do for the longest time. I am overjoyed at its being realized, and thrilled with the final results! It marks the end of an era, and the beginning of a new one. This is the 1st time in my career I've been able to make an album, my way! That is . . . to produce, write, play and engineer my own project, in my own studio from conception to completion. Big thanks to all who took part, and helped in making "Lightning Strike" come to life! I've long had an overpowering desire to make a Blues album. But not just any ol' Blues album. It had to be a personal statement from the soul, and played from the heart. Some folks may beg to differ, but I feel there's a lot of fakin' goin' on in the Blues world. People playing the Blues form, but giving nothing from the soul. Rehash learned by listening to records . . . played correctly, but going nowhere! There's no spine tinglin', soul stirring feeling . . . . just empty exercises in form! For me, Blues is about feeling, and relaying one's own truths, plain and simple! The songs on "Lightning Strike" come straight from the soul! They deal with my own Post-atomic Blues reality, and are played & sung straight from the heart! I hope everyone digs it as much as I dug making it!" |
